Galatians 4:4-7

4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

When you practice love (in action), it’ll transform people’s lives.

The Origin of Love

1 John 4:7-12

4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

Requiem for True Love

•I must love God, love His Word, hunger and thirst for His presence, pursue His power and passion, acknowledge His omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence.  I must accept His sovereignty and reign in the universe.
•I must love myself, understand that I was created in the image and likeness of God, and be completely satisfied and content with my spiritual and supernatural design – His plan for my life.
•I must love others in the manner God loves – the unconditional will to look beyond the imperfections of the flesh and focus on the potential character, His unchangeable blueprint for my destiny.
Song of Solomon 8:6
Set me as a deal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for the love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the Lord.

Misconceptions of Love

1. Love is not inherited. You can’t inherit Love.

2. Love is not assumed.

3.  Love is not instant.

4. Love is not on a schedule.

5. Love is not bought or sold.

6. Love is not contingent.

7. Love is not violent.

Love Must be Taught

Titus 2:1-7

2 But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. 2 Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. 3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, 4 and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. 6 Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.

I Peter 3:7

7 Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

Spiritual Operation and Spiritual Maturity are Not the Same

I Corinthians 13:1-3

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is Unselfish and Unconditional

I Corinthians 13:4-7

4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love is Not Immature or Thoughtless

I Corinthians 13: 8-12

8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.
